Technology of Yesteryear or Today. What’s your Pleasure?

Opening an old VHS case my son said, “I haven’t seen any of these technology things in so long” (he’s never seen one 🤣). Pulling it out of the case and cradling it like a little baby that would break, he studied it thoroughly. Then, he flipped it over and saw the two white circles. He continued, “Hey this is like what Star Lord uses in Guardians of the Galaxy.” I had to explain that Star Lord’s was similar, but smaller and held music instead of a movie. He then held the VHS to his ear and started singing Star Lord’s music. If that wasn’t cute enough, he then started to mimic Toy Story. “Aw, you’re broken, I don’t want to play with you anymore. Bye VRC.” Explaining again that it’s called a VHS, it reminded me of the generational gaps on both ends. Younger people are intrigued and fascinated with “old technology.” While older people have more trepidation around “new technology.”

Fortunately, the literary industry has the best of both worlds. Those who enjoy the crisp pages of a paperback or hardcover can still dive into their favorite author’s books. While those who would rather read on their phone, Kindle, Nook, etc., have that freedom to do so. That brings me to the exciting news that I’m in the process of getting my self-published book, Starting Over, on audible for those who’d rather listen to a book. This is an exciting new adventure for me. More to come on this in the coming months!

For now, I am excited to offer my readers the amazing opportunity to help shape one of my current novels by reading an UNEDITED chapter each week and offering feedback. You’ll be able to share your thoughts about and contribute to all the character’s jubilance, hesitations, trials, and impending love! I am delighted to interact with all of my readers. You’ll be able to experience the character’s through the development stage and have a say in how the characters end up. You will get just as invested in these character’s as I do when mapping out their adventures. To coin the amazing actor Humphrey Bogart’s phrase — “I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”
