New Year’s Resolutions

Do you create New Year's resolutions? If so, how are you doing with those?

If you follow me on Instagram and Tiktok, are in my Facebook Reader Group, or read my newsletters, you know that I shared my ambitious reading and writing goals for 2024. But I have something more important to set my eyes on in 2024.

Our pastor had a great message yesterday about three resolutions we should try to achieve. Number 1: We need to figure out which habitual sins we're committing, keeping us from growing our relationship with God, and work to eliminate them. Number 2: We need to determine if there are any regrets haunting us, making us feel like God doesn't want a relationship with us. We need to reprogram our thinking, forget the things from our past, and press forward (paraphrased Philippians 3:13-14). Number 3: We need to let go of grudges. You may not even realize you’re holding a grievance against someone else, but what those hardened feelings can do is lead to thoughts and actions unpleasing to God and thus make you miserable.

There’s enough in this world that we don’t have control over that can make us miserable. We definitely shouldn’t add more melancholy to our lives.

That all being said, I love each and every one of you. I wish you the best 2024 you can possibly have!
